Dried Ginger

This ginger comes from a manufacturer that has partnered with trusted growers for more than 30 years, building a highly transparent supply chain from cultivation through harvest and processing. By knowing exactly which farms grow the crops and by taking part in processing decisions, they provide safe, high-quality herbs.

They were among the first in the United States to establish an in-house laboratory and conduct rigorous testing on every herb and spice. Each lot is examined for identity, moisture content, foreign matter, microbiological load, pesticide residues, and heavy metals; anything that fails to meet specifications is immediately rejected. Results can be provided as a Certificate of Analysis (COA). During processing, extraneous materials such as leaves and stems are carefully removed before cutting or milling. The company now performs organic processing in its own facilities, enabling faster and more consistent supply.

The following treatments are prohibited: irradiation, X-ray, ozone, ethylene oxide, and harsh high-temperature steam sterilization. Low-temperature steam is used only when strictly necessary. Warehouses are tightly controlled for temperature and humidity, with documented and monitored pest control, sanitation, and equipment disinfection. All staff are trained to OTCO standards and operate under cGMP guidelines. Facilities also undergo regular audits by EarthKosher.

Suitable for a wide range of birds—including finches and small, medium, and large parrots. Lories/lorikeets can also be fed this product. For other small animals, please review the ingredients and use your discretion as the owner.

In bird nutrition, “whole foods” are ingredients that wild birds could obtain in nature—fresh vegetables and fruits, seeds, nuts, herbs, coconut, edible flowers, insects, and items that are soaked or sprouted. In short, foods you can recognize at a glance.

With the exception of processed products such as pellets, supplements, and bird cookies, most of these are considered whole foods. (Seeds count as whole foods, too.)

There’s no fixed feeding amount—please “consult” with your bird and offer as preferred.

Ways to serve (examples):

When used as part of meals and mixed with other foods, offering about 2–5 times per week is fine. However, we don’t recommend large quantities. As with any food, moderation is best.

This product falls under the “Dried Foods” category. Please blend it as part of various dried ingredients and feed according to the ratio shown in the chart. Avoid overfeeding.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and humidity. Once opened, use promptly; reseal the zipper closure tightly or transfer to an airtight container. For reference, our team keeps them in airtight jars from IKEA.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sets maximum “defect action levels” for incidental insect matter, and those limits vary by food type and manufacturing process. Because this product uses pesticide-free ingredients and contains no additives, incidental insects may occasionally be present. Insects associated with produce or herbs (i.e., whole foods) are a natural source of animal protein and are generally not harmful to birds; however, please remove them if you prefer. Returns or exchanges cannot be accepted for issues related to incidental insects.
