Beans are rich in easily digestible plant-based protein for birds.
When it comes to protein, the source matters just as much as the amount. Beans provide a high-quality protein source that supports body building during growth, molting, and breeding periods.

Palatability
There are individual differences, so we cannot say for certain, but many bird owners report that their birds will eat beans if offered consistently. Birds often take time to recognize new foods as “edible,” so please be patient and introduce them gradually.

Common Misunderstanding
In Western countries, there has been a misconception that feeding soaked or sprouted seeds (soak seeds or sprout seeds) stimulates breeding behavior. However, this is not true. As explained in this seminar, soaked or sprouted foods do not induce hormonal activity or breeding. For details, please refer to the seminar.

Features of Beans
① All beans are USDA-certified organic, Non-GMO, and sold as human-grade food. Compared to non-organic beans, they are more expensive.

② In compliance with the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act, U.S.), the beans have passed testing for common foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria.

③ In addition, the beans are inspected by the USDA for harmful pests. Official documentation is provided to certify that they are free from contamination.

④ All beans have passed germination viability testing.

⑤ Once a year, the manufacturer conducts germination tests to ensure the viability rate remains intact. Only beans that pass this test (with an official germination report) are used.

⑥ Only beans that comply with the U.S. Federal Seed Act are included in this blend.

This product can be given to a wide range of birds, including finches, small, medium, and large parrots, as well as pigeons.
It is suitable for birds from weaned juveniles to seniors.
Not recommended for lories/lorikeets.
It may also be offered to other small animals, but please check the ingredients and use your discretion as the owner.

In bird nutrition, “whole foods” are ingredients that wild birds could obtain in nature—fresh vegetables and fruits, seeds, nuts, herbs, coconut, edible flowers, insects, and items that are soaked or sprouted. In short, foods you can recognize at a glance.

With the exception of processed products such as pellets, supplements, and bird cookies, most of these are considered whole foods. (Seeds count as whole foods, too.)

This product contains raw beans. Beans should not be fed raw or simply soaked. Please make sure to prepare them properly before feeding.

One of our followers kindly shared a blog post about how they feed this product. The method is almost the same as what PEGO staff use to feed their birds in the U.S. Please use it as a reference (but always do your own research when deciding how to feed).

Daily feeding is recommended, but please do not feed this alone.
Always provide a variety of whole foods as well—vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, herbs, mealworms, coconut, and other natural foods.

We recommend feeding this blend as 10–20% of the total daily diet.
It can be offered every day.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and humidity. Once opened, use promptly; reseal the zipper closure tightly or transfer to an airtight container. For reference, our team keeps them in airtight jars from IKEA.

Especially recommended for birds during molting or other periods when they require higher protein.
This blend provides a well-balanced source of high protein, high dietary fiber, B vitamins, iron, magnesium, potassium, and antioxidants.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sets maximum “defect action levels” for incidental insect matter, and those limits vary by food type and manufacturing process. Because this product uses pesticide-free ingredients and contains no additives, incidental insects may occasionally be present. Insects associated with produce or herbs (i.e., whole foods) are a natural source of animal protein and are generally not harmful to birds; however, please remove them if you prefer. Returns or exchanges cannot be accepted for issues related to incidental insects.
